This account teaches young people the value of saving while giving adults peace of mind that funds are protected until the child turns 18.

  • The account is managed by a trusted adult until the child turns 18, so it’s safe and secure
  • The account opener has secure online access to check balances and download statements
  • Simple ID needed: birth, adoption, or fostering certificate, or the child’s passport
  • Anyone can make deposits, but withdrawals are only allowed by the trusted adult until the young saver is over 18 years of age
  • No borrowing or loan facilities linked to this account
  • No joining fees or ongoing charges
  • Automatically converts into a full adult account once the young saver turns 18
  • When the community bank does well, young savers get a share of the profits, helping their savings grow
