Thousands of older people are entitled to extra support, but aren’t claiming it. Let’s change that.
If you’re over State Pension age and on a low income, Pension Credit could top up your weekly income and open the door to other benefits like help with housing costs, energy bills, NHS prescriptions and more.
At Northern Community Bank, we want to make sure our communities aren’t missing out on money they’re entitled to. It’s your right so let’s make sure you’re getting it.
What Is Pension Credit?
Pension Credit is a government top-up for people who have reached State Pension age and need a bit more to live on. It comes in two parts:
- Guarantee Credit – tops up your weekly income to a minimum level
- Savings Credit – an extra boost if you’ve made modest savings towards retirement
You might qualify for one or both.
How Much Could You Get?
It depends on your income, savings and circumstances, but the average claim is worth over £3,900 a year, money that could make a real difference to your everyday life.
Even a small award can unlock extra help like:
- Free NHS dental treatment and prescriptions
- Help with heating bills through the Warm Home Discount
- Council Tax reductions
- Free TV licence (if over 75)
Not Sure If You’re Eligible?
You’re not alone. 1 in 3 people who qualify aren’t claiming Pension Credit. Many assume they won’t be eligible, but the rules can be more generous than you think.
If you’re:
- Over State Pension age
- On a low income (whether you’re single or a couple)
- Have limited savings or a modest pension
…it’s well worth checking.
How to Claim
It’s free and simple to apply and you can do it by:
